Manager Ross Tokely has this morning bolstered his defence by bringing Ross County defender, Ali Morrison to the club on loan until the end of the year.

The 17-year-old centre back’s arrival comes as a boost to the Manager’s options having himself retired at the end of last season.

Ali is highly thought of at the Global Energy Stadium and is closing in on full fitness again after suffering an ankle injury towards the end of last season.

Ross Tokely was pleased to bring in another Ross County loanee following in the footsteps of Andrew Macleod and George Robesten’s success with us during the last campaign.

He said: “Ali is a young player but has a bit of Highland League experience from last season. Despite his young age, he has a lot of attributes required to succeed as a defender in the Highland League – he is the sort of player we want in the team and I am delighted that he will be joining us on loan.

“Ali is comfortable on the ball and has been brought through at Ross County playing the right way. He has good height and strength and we will be looking for him to do the basics defensively and helping us to build the play from the back.

“It gives us another option at the back – we needed another out-and-out centre half and bringing Ali to the club gives us that option.

“I would like to thank Ross County for allowing Ali to join us on loan and we are looking forward to working with him and helping him with his development over the next six months.”

Ali has been with Ross County since he was 10 years old. He captained the Staggies in their North of Scotland Cup campaign last season, leading them out against us in the final where we succeeded 5-4 after extra time. He then went on to gain his first proper taste of senior football during a loan spell at Brora Rangers last season, where he played against us when we visited Dudgeon Park back in March.
