NAIRN County are seeking new coaches for the under-17s team. Applicants have until Friday June 2nd to apply. Head of Youth Development, Stewart McInnes, said: "We had planned to move our existing under-15s coach, Craig Walker up to the under-17s to retain a level of consistency with the players who will also be making the same step." "However, since joining the club last summer, Craig has had a promotion at his work and that means there is more pressure on his time away from the club and he felt it would be unfair on the players to continue." He added: "We are now looking to establish a new coaching team and it is a great opportunity for budding coaches who are looking to start their careers or move up an age level." "We want someone with enthusiasm and fresh ideas who can add to the dynamic setup that we want to have in place." "The under-17s is a developmental level for the coaches as much as the players – we want someone who is willing to learn and progress their own coaching career." "Under-17s is a vital age level for the players as we want them to have game awareness, know their role in the system the team plays and be comfortable in possession of the ball as well as building on all of the individual skills and techniques they have developed at the under-15s. It is all geared towards ensuring that the players are ready to step up to the under-20s squad and then eventually into first team as well as the most important factor – enjoying playing football." The job advertisement is below: Nairn County Football Club seeks a Head Coach for their under-17s team. This role involves coaching a group of approximately 20 players aged between 15 years old and 17 years old. Reporting to the club's Head of Youth Development, you will be responsible for arranging and implementing training sessions, recording player progression and managing the team in the Scottish Highland Football League Youth Development Programme throughout the season (including some minor match day administration, such as writing out team lines). You must be available to take training two evenings per week and for Sunday matchdays (the team played 18 league fixtures during the 2016/17 season plus friendlies) and provide a safe, friendly and challenging but supportive environment, where players can learn from their mistakes without undue pressure or anxiety. You will be highly-motivated, well-organised, capable of working on your own and as part of a coaching team, willing to place emphasis on the development of every player in the squad (regardless of ability) both as a person and a footballer over match results and be capable of communicating both verbally and in writing to your players and their parents. You will also be willing to work in tandem with the club's existing youth coaches, be committed to the club's ambition of rolling out a synchronised style of play across all levels up to and including the first team and attend coaches meetings with your fellow Youth Coaches, First Team Manager, Head of Youth Development and Director of Football as and when scheduled. In return, Nairn County FC will offer you training facilities for your team's training sessions, all equipment required to implement your training sessions, a support network led by the club's Head of Youth Development which is dedicated to resolving as swiftly as possible any issues that you may identify, sports first aid training and SFA youth coaching qualifications (upon your long-term commitment to the role). Successful applicants will have to carry out the Disclosure Scotland PVG Check. You will also receive regular mentoring from the first team manager, Ronnie Sharp and the other youth coaches at the club, if desired. No prior experience necessary.
