We are delighted to be able to kick-off 2023 by announcing that our club captain, Fraser Dingwall, has agreed a new contract.

The centre-back has become a cornerstone of our team during his time with the club and it give us a huge boost to have secured his services up to the summer of 2025.

Manager Steven Mackay was delighted to break the news to our supporters this New Year’s Day lunchtime, as he put in place a significant part of his team for future years.

He said: “Fraser is only 24 years old but he is displaying all the attributes to be an excellent captain. He leads from the front, is a winner and is getting better with each game.

“The partnership he has forged with Ross Tokely at the centre of our defence has been very pleasing and I believe he will only get better.

“I am delighted he has agreed to pledge his future to the club as he is a big part of our plans moving forward.”

Dingwall joined us from North Caledonian League club, Invergordon in 2018. The 24-year-old had previously played with his home town club, Alness United prior to his season with Invergordon.

He has since adapted superbly to the step up to the Highland League, becoming a mainstay of our defence and winning our Players’ Player of the Year award in 2019 at the end of his first season with the club.

So far, Fraser has made 81 appearances for us, scoring eight times and we are all delighted that he has pledged his future to Nairn County.
