It has been a little while since my last update, but rest assured there has been no shortage of hard work going on behind the scenes at Nairn County.

A lot has been happening both on and off the park, and I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone – supporters, volunteers, committee members, coaching staff, players, and sponsors for their continued efforts and commitment to the club.

ON THE PARK

The team continues to build momentum as we move through what has been an exciting period on the pitch. Our recent Scottish Cup First Round trip to Berwick Rangers was a great success. It was a memorable day for everyone involved, and I’d like to extend a huge thank you to all of the supporters who made the long journey south to back the team – your support made a real difference.

We now look forward to the Second Round tie against Turriff United, and I’d encourage everyone to get along to Station Park and get behind the lads. Match sponsorship is still available for that game, so please get in touch if you or your business would like to be part of what promises to be another great occasion.

This Saturday, we welcome Keith to Station Park, and we’re very much looking forward to seeing a strong home crowd once again. The match will also acknowledge World Mental Health Day, with Mikeysline joining us on the day to promote their vital work across the Highlands. Mental health affects us all, and we are proud to continue supporting the fantastic efforts of Mikeysline and others working in this area.

OFF THE PARK

Our Primary Three shirt giveaway took place recently, and it has been one of the real highlights of the season so far. Seeing every Primary 3 pupil in Nairnshire proudly wearing the Nairn County colours has been wonderful. We’ve heard from parents that many of the youngsters haven’t stopped wearing their shirts since. We’re looking forward to welcoming lots of them and their families to Station Park this weekend for the Keith game.

With the success of the anniversary shirt, I’m pleased to confirm that we’ll extend its use into next season, allowing supporters to continue enjoying this special design for a little longer.

We also recently hosted a successful Ladies Day, with more than 30 women attending and creating a fantastic atmosphere. Thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a brilliant occasion, it’s great to see these events well attended.

We have strengthened our Management Committee with the additions of Graham Stuart, Kenny Spink, and Mya Chemonges-Murzynowska, who bring great experience, energy, and ideas to the team. Welcome aboard to all three.

That said, our biggest ongoing challenge remains finding enough matchday volunteers. If you can spare a few hours every second Saturday – whether it’s helping with hospitality, media, or general duties, please get in touch. The more hands we have, the stronger the club becomes.

COMMUNITY & FUNDRAISING

Our “Buy a Brick” initiative has now surpassed 100 bricks sold, which is a fantastic milestone. Thank you to everyone who has supported it so far. With Christmas approaching, these make for a unique and meaningful gift. If you purchase your brick by Friday 15th November, we’ll have it installed in time for Christmas Day. You can buy a brick here: https://forms.gle/o9U1PCMgLaxyZPeF6

We will also soon be announcing details and opening table sales for our upcoming Sporting Dinner. It is always one of the most enjoyable dates in the Nairn County calendar. Please keep the Friday 6th March noted in your diaries, and stay tuned for more information.

STATION PARK & EVENTS

Station Park continues to be recognised as one of the best venues in the Highland League, and it was a privilege for the club to recently host the SWF Highland and Islands League Cup Final.

Next up, the ground will host the North of Scotland Cup Final between Forres Mechanics and Clachnacuddin next Saturday. While that’s happening at Station Park, I hope many of you will be making the trip to Grantown-on-Spey to back the team in our match against Strathspey Thistle.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. Every bit of support makes a difference and helps us continue to grow stronger together.

See you all at Station Park this Saturday.

Chairman, Nairn County FC
