Since my last update, the club has experienced a busy month. I would like to acknowledge the contributions of our volunteers, committee members, coaches, supporters, and partners for their ongoing involvement and support.
Significant effort has been made behind the scenes with the intention of advancing the club both on and off the field.
The team will play its final pre-season match tomorrow at Station Park against Arbroath Victoria. The Highland League season will then begin with an away fixture at Buckie Thistle on Saturday 26th July, followed by two consecutive home matches: Deveronvale on Wednesday 30th July and Clach on Saturday 2nd August.
We’ve been working hard to strengthen the club at every level. I was pleased to announce the six new Directors who were appointed to the Nairn County FC Board; Ronald M. Gordon, Declan Flynn, Tom Monteith, Brian Sherret, and two existing members of the club structure: myself and Gordy Stewart, who will both serve dual roles between the Board and the Management Committee. This expanded leadership team brings fresh ideas, new energy, and even greater stability to the club as we move forward.
In addition, we have managed to secure a new club secretary ahead of the new season, which is fantastic news.
We were also proud to announce that our long-standing main sponsor, Murray Travel, has extended their front-of-shirt sponsorship for a further three years. Their continued backing is a massive boost and shows real faith in the direction we are heading.
Furthermore, we’ve struck a new partnership with Ralph Sayer, who will sponsor our Man of the Match awards, Golf Day, and Sporting Dinner.
Their support has already played a key role in helping us make the landmark announcement that every Primary three pupil in the Nairnshire area will receive a free Nairn County shirt before the October holidays. This has been something we are very excited about and it is a wonderful way to bring more young people into the club and mark our 50th anniversary season.
We’ll have more announcements in the coming months around how we plan to celebrate this special milestone, but this weekend also marks the on sale of our anniversary home shirt, and we’re excited to see it around town and at Station Park.
Tonight, we’re hosting a Race Night at Nairn Dunbar Golf Club. It is a free-to-attend event that’s open to all, whether you’re a Nairn County supporter or just looking for a good night out. It’s an important fundraiser for the club, and I hope to see many of you there.
Our Matchday Hospitality is already filling up fast. We’re ahead of where we were this time last season and have even had our first stag do bookings. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, looking for a team day out, or treating clients, there’s no better way to enjoy a Wednesday night or Saturday than at Station Park. Get in touch to avoid missing out.
A big thank you to all the businesses and individuals who have renewed or come onboard as sponsors or renewed their advertising boards for the new season. These partnerships are the lifeblood of the club. We are fully self-sufficient, and every penny generated goes into strengthening the squad and improving the facilities at Station Park.
We still have a few spaces left for pitchside advertising and digital sponsorship opportunities – please reach out if you’d like to support us in this way.
Season tickets are selling fast, and we’ve set a new record for digital sales. Physical season tickets can be picked up at home matches from the club shop.
Fan bricks have also been popular, with nearly 100 sold. Purchase yours by Sunday before the sales window closes.
Nairn County is only as strong as its people, and we are lucky to have so many incredible people involved at every level. I would like to shine a light on just some of those making the club what it is:
We do need some additional help this season, especially with:
If you have a few hours to spare and want to be part of the team, please get in touch. Even if you can’t commit to every match, any help you can offer will be hugely appreciated and we’ll make sure the workload is shared fairly across our volunteer pool.
As always, thank you for your continued support. Whether it’s through sponsorship, buying a season ticket, helping out on a Saturday, or just coming along to cheer on the team, it all makes a difference.
Let’s make this 50th anniversary season one to remember. See you soon at Station Park and hopefully at tonight’s Race Night.
Best regards,
Kevin H. Reid
