I know it has not been very long since my last Chairman’s Statement but I wanted to keep you up-to-date with everything that has been happening at the club over the last few weeks.

First of all, I am delighted that Wayne Mackintosh has accepted the post of Manager. When I took over as Chairman, it was a top priority to fill the Manager’s post. We needed someone who could hit the ground running in terms of their knowledge of the existing squad and I could not think of anyone more suited for the position than Wayne. When we sat down, I could sense his passion for the club and was impressed by his plans for the future and his drive and ambitions to be a success as Manager. I am looking forward to working closely with him as we move forward over the next few months and years.

Wayne has been very busy already and is close to finalising his Management Team. Once everything is confirmed and signed, we will make an announcement. We have also managed to schedule our first couple of pre-season friendlies and will be away to North Region Championship winners, Lossiemouth United on Saturday July 5th and at home to Midlands League side Arbroath Victoria at Station Park on Saturday July 19th.

We have made some additions to the Management Committee and I am absolutely delighted that both John Maclean and Stevie Webster have accepted invitations to join us. Both of these guys will bring great value to the club and have skillsets which will be of huge benefit to us as well as both having a real passion for Nairn County. These are the traits we are looking for and I am keen to add more people to our Management Committee. Hopefully, we will be able to confirm some more additions soon and if you would like to offer your help, please email me at info@nairncountyfc.co.uk or message our Social Media pages and I will be sure to get back to you.

At this point, I would like to recognise all the efforts of the Management Committee since I have taken over as Chairman. There has been so much to get through and come to terms with and everyone has gone above and beyond and put in many, many hours of work, most of which is unseen. It certainly is appreciated by me.

We launched our online Season Ticket sales last week. This provides us with vital funds at this time of year when we do not have any home fixtures over the close season period. It is really important to the club that we sell as many Season Tickets as possible, so if you plan to come to the majority of our home matches next season, I would urge you to buy your Season Ticket to help support us. The link is here: https://app.fanbaseclub.com/Fan/SeasonTickets/SelectType?clubId=106

I am looking forward to our annual Golf Day at Nairn Dunbar on Friday June 20th. This is another important date in the club’s fundraising diary and we are approaching a sell out, which would be a fantastic result if we could achieve it. The cost is £300+VAT for a Shotgun start at 9.00 am followed by a two-course meal. If you would like to enter a team, again drop us an email or a message on Social Media.

We are finalising our hospitality offerings for the new season and we will have details on that soon once the fixtures are out, which will hopefully be over the next few weeks and if you would like to watch Wayne and the team while enjoying a meal and a few drinks beforehand, we would love to hear from you.

Finally, I could not let this update pass without mentioning Ian Finlayson, following his recent retirement from the Management Committee. There is not a job Ian would not have done for Nairn County if asked such was his dedication and his passion for the club. Even though he is no longer on the Management Committee, he has still been a great help over this handover period and I would like to thank him for that and everything he has done for the club. For those of you who attended the recent play he wrote, directed and starred in, I hope to see “Funtime Frankie” in the stands at Station Park soon!

Thank you for your support and if there is anything you would like to discuss or suggest, please get in touch.
