There has been so much work carried out behind the scenes at the club by our dedicated Management Committee over the last couple of months and while you may not see it, it is so important to the long term future of the club and ensuring that Nairn County is in a position to survive and thrive moving forward. I would like to thank all of the committee for their efforts so far and for their support since I took over as Chairman, it has certainly made my life a lot easier than it could have been and I am looking forward to continuing to work together in the future.
I am delighted to now be able to confirm that we will be hosting a Fans Forum in the Marquee at the Westerlea Hotel on the evening of Friday June 27th at 7.15 pm.
Everyone is welcome to attend and myself, fellow members of the Management Committee and our First Team Management will be in attendance to answer all your questions and take onboard any of your suggestions.
The Westerlea will be serving meals from 5.00 pm that evening and have a Quiz Night immediately following the Fans Forum, so it is a great opportunity to make a good night of it with one of our main partners.
The response to our Buy-a-Brick initiative has been really good. This is a unique opportunity for you to literally be part of the brickwork at Station Park. There will be the option to pay in cash at the Fans Forum and at our home pre-season matches for the second sales window, which is coming soon.
As well as bricks, Season Tickets will also be on sale for cash purchases at our home pre-season matches. Prices have been frozen again, so these costs £140 for adults and £75 for Over-65s and 16-18-year-olds with all Under-16s entering for free. With the Highland League increasing the minimum price of entry to each match to £12 for adults and £6 for concessions, these represent even greater value than before. If you prefer to pay online, you can do so here at any time: https://app.fanbaseclub.com/Fan/SeasonTickets/SelectClubTicket?clubId=106&SaleWindowId=12157
Our Matchday Hospitality packages are filling up quickly now that the fixtures for the new season have been published. If you are interested in finding out more about what we offer or booking in, please drop us a message on Social Media or email info@nairncountyfc.co.uk. We have a few game that are completely sold out already, so if you are interested, please get in touch as soon as you can to avoid disappointment.
We continue to receive confirmation of renewals for our Pitchside Advertising, which provides us with crucial income at an important time of year. If you would like to support the club through your business by advertising at Station Park, please let us know as soon as you can so we can make all of the necessary arrangements before the first match of pre-season. Again, drop me an email at the address above or message us on Social Media and we can take it from there.
We were all absolutely delighted to conclude a deal with Culloden Cars for them to become the new sponsor of the Main Stand at Station Park. Craig Walker, the Culloden Cars CEO, has been a huge backer of local football through his business interests over the years and we are thrilled to have Culloden Cars onboard ahead of the new season. As Chairman, I look forward to welcoming Craig and his team to Station Park for our home fixtures in the new season and I thank them for their support of the club.
The success of initiatives such as the Supporters Wall, Season Ticket Sales, Matchday Hospitality and Pitchside Advertising and all of our other opportunities to contribute like the 50/50 Club, Player Sponsors and Club 1914 dictate how much we can support the Manager in his efforts to put a successful team on the park. We do not have any benefactors or individual backers who underwrite any of our expenditure – we are solely reliant on these streams of income from supporters and local businesses to provide the finance required for us to continue to grow. I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed so far and if anyone feels they can help the club in this area, I would urge you to reach out to me.
Nairn County Community FC has recently launched Walking Football sessions. These are open to men and women regardless of previous football experience and take place at the Riverside at 7.00 pm on Tuesdays. Anyone who wishes to play is invited to turn up.
The Community FC’s Under-15s team has reached the cup final in their Division of the Inverness Street League, which takes place tonight at Milton Pitches in Inverness. Kick-off is at 7.00 pm and it would be great to have some extra support for the boys – we all wish them the very best of luck. The volunteers at Nairn County Community are doing a lot of great work providing football from age 4 and upwards across Nairnshire and you can keep up-to-date with all of their activities on their Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61565420950275. I would like to thank our Head of Community Football, Kenny Spink and all of the Community Football Team for their tremendous efforts.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone who has entered our Golf Day at Nairn Dunbar next Friday. It is our biggest selling Golf Day event post-Covid and it is sure to be a fantastic day of play on a pristine course. I would like to thank in advance the Dunbar for hosting us and to everyone who has entered and wish you well on the day.
At Management Committee level, Ken Loades stood down from the committee earlier this month owing to his business commitments. Ken has done a great amount of work for the club over the last three-and-a-half years, most prominently around the organisation of our Sporting Dinners, where he was heavily involved in their relaunch following the Covid restrictions putting the Dinners on ice for a few years. I know Ken well and he will still be there to support the club – I would like to thank him for all his efforts on behalf of the club and to wish him well for the future.
We continue to look to strengthen our Management Committee and are also looking to build up our pool of valued matchday volunteers, who are crucial to the running of Station Park on a Saturday. If you think you can spare a few hours before, during or after the match to help with stewarding, selling merchandise or raffle tickets, serving drinks in the Boardroom or with general tidying / upkeep, please make contact as soon as possible. We want to have as many volunteers in the pool as possible, so we do not overburden people with too much work and can spread the load equally, meaning that just because you have committed to helping it does not mean that you need to do so for every single home match. We are also on the lookout for volunteers to create video content and match reports, if you think that’s you, please make contact.
The countdown is now on to the start of the 50th anniversary of our Highland League championship triumph in the 1975/76 season. We are already making plans to mark this in style and I am excited for these to be announced soon.
Thank you for your support and I will see you at the Fans Forum.
