We have completed the loan signing of Calum Mackay from Inverness CT.

Calum is an 18-year-old attacking player who joins us on a temporary basis until the end of the year.

He featured for the Caley Jags in their North of Scotland Cup quarter final win at Rothes, so is cup-tied for our final against Ross County but comes into contention to make his debut tomorrow at Clachnacuddin.

Manager Steven Mackay said: “I am delighted to bring Calum to the club as it gives us another attacking option.

“He is comfortable playing on either side or centrally, which gives us a range of options in terms of where we use him to strengthen our team.

“We have pursued Calum for a while now and he was close to joining us last season at the same time as Matthew Strachan, but he sustained a knee injury, which has hampered his progress. He has been back in full time training for about a month now though and he is fit and raring to go and eager to make up for lost time.

“We would like to thank Inverness CT for allowing us to take Calum on loan and we are excited to be working with him over the next few months.”

Calum made his Inverness CT debut as a substitute against Motherwell in the League Cup in August 2022. He then made his first start a month later in the 3-3 draw with Brechin City in the Challenge Cup, a match Inverness won on penalties. The third of his three ICT appearances also came in the Challenge Cup away at Hamilton Academical in December 2022, where he featured alongside his new Nairn County teammates, Jamie Carnihan and Aaron Nicolson.

Calum comes from a football family with his brother Daniel currently playing for Livingston while his father Karl used to play for us in the 1990s.

If you wish to sponsor Calum, drop us an email to info@nairncountyfc.co.uk or message us on Social Media.
