We are delighted to announce a new contract for Calum Mackay.
The 20-year-old attacking midfield player has put pen to paper on a deal which keeps him at Station Park until the Summer of 2028.
Calum has been among our top performers so far this season, weighing in with seven goals and nine assists throughout the 2025/26 campaign to date.
Manager Wayne Mackintosh was pleased to secure the future of our of his key players as he looks to continue to put a strong and stable squad in place moving into future seasons.
He said: “We are delighted that Calum has agreed to extend his contract with us.
“He seems to be really enjoying his football and he has a family connection to the club with his dad having played here and some of his family being from Nairn too – I think that is a really important factor for him and helps to drive him to do well.
“He has been superb for us this season and is now really starting to flourish having gained a year of regular football every week for the first time at adult level after leaving Inverness CT. We have been really pleased with his progress – he is an intelligent player and capable of playing in a number of positions in the middle of the park be it off the striker, in a deeper role or out wide.
“He has that really competitive streak in him too and always wants to win in games and at training, which is important as well. Myself and the coaching staff all really enjoy working with Calum and we are looking forward to continuing to do so over the next few seasons.”
Calum joins Jamie Carnihan, Millar Gamble and Fraser Dingwall in agreeing new deals with the club this season until 2028.
Toshy added: “Tying down Calum and the other players at this stage has been a real boost for us and it means we can properly forward plan as we head towards the Summer and the close season.
“We want to keep players of this calibre at the club and attract others who we feel can strengthen our squad, so retaining Calum on a new deal for the next two-and-a-half seasons is an important part of that.”
Calum initially joined us on loan from Inverness CT in October 2023 until the end of the 2023/24 season.
After returning to the League One club, he remained a part of their First Team squad until he was released in February 2025 having made 16 appearances after debuting against Motherwell in the League Cup in 2022.
It was then that he joined us on a permanent deal – initially until the end of the season before agreeing an extension in the summer – and so far, he has made 63 appearances for the club and scored 10 goals.
