We are delighted to confirm Brian Macleod as our Interim Manager until the end of the season.
Brian will be assisted in the role by our First Team Coach, Alan Geegan.
The pair have started preparations for Saturday’s home match against Lossiemouth – having seen last weekend’s away match at Formartine United postponed – after agreeing to take up the reins in the short term following Ross Tokely’s departure from the club as Manager last week. Now, that arrangement has been extended to the end of the season.
Chairman Mark Kelman said: “We are delighted that Brian and Alan have agreed to stay on with us and take over the running of the team until the end of the season.
“Our Director of Football, Graeme Macleod, has had discussions with them both this week and we have now come to an arrangement which suits everyone and allows all parties the time to decide which direction we wish to move in ahead of the new season.
“It is clear that Brian has the respect of all the players in the dressing room and I am sure they will respond positively to his ideas in the coming weeks, starting with Saturday’s home match against Lossiemouth.
“I would like to thank Brian and Alan for stepping up and supporting us at what is a challenging and uncertain time for the club and the squad and we hope that this level of stability gives us the platform to push forward and try to improve our league position as much as possible before the season comes to an end.”
Brian has served the club as Player, Captain, Reserves Team Assistant Coach, First Team Coach and Assistant Manager in various spells after first joining on loan from Ross County as a youngster in 1999 and then permanently for the first time in 2003.
Alan joined us in the summer as First Team Coach having stepped down from his previous post as Manager of North Caledonian League club, St Duthus.
