Our striker, Ben Barron, has today joined Brora Rangers in a permanent transfer.
The 21-year-old centre forward has spent the last two-and-a-half seasons with us, having joined from Elgin City, initially on loan, in January 2024.
Ben has been our top scorer in each of his full seasons with the club and now moves on to the next chapter of his career.
Manager Wayne Mackintosh said: “We all wish Ben well with this move to Brora Rangers. It is a great opportunity for him and I am sure that he will continue to develop his game and improve there.
“He has been a key player for us in my time as manager of the club and I have enjoyed working with him, initially as a teammate and latterly as his manager.
“He has the majority of his career still in front of him and I hope that he fulfils his undoubted potential. He leaves us with the best wishes of everyone at the club and I would like to thank him for all of his service to Nairn County.”
Ben joined us on loan from Elgin City for the second half of the 2023/24 season, scoring 10 goals in 10 appearances during that period.
He made the move permanent that summer, netting 19 and 15 goals respectively in successive seasons, giving him an overall tally of 44 goals in 85 appearances for the club.
