Today we can confirm that we have extended the loan of Ali Morrison from Ross County until the end of the season.
The 17-year-old defender joined us on a temporary basis from the Premiership club at the start of the season and has been a regular part of our defence since the beginning of the campaign.
Ali has made 20 appearances for us so far scoring once and clocking up the highest number of minutes on the pitch out of the entire squad so far this season.
Manager Ross Tokely said: “We are delighted to have secured Ali’s services until the end of the season. He is progressing well in his development with us and has established himself as an important member of the squad.
“He still has a lot of his development years ahead of him but you can definitely see improvements in his game over the time he has been with us – the number of appearances he has made for us is testament to the levels he has reached on a consistent basis.
“We are looking forward to continuing to work with him throughout the rest of the season and I would like to thank Don Cowie, Gary Warren and the rest of the staff at Ross County for continuing to trust us with Ali’s development.”
Ali debuted for us on the opening day of the season against Brechin City, having joined us on loan following a similar spell with Brora Rangers during the second half of last season.
He is also a part of the Ross County Under-18s squad, which has reached the quarter finals of the Scottish Youth Cup where they will visit Livingston later this month. Ali scored his penalty in the shootout win at Hibernian in the previous round.
