Our second signing of the day comes in the form of Brora Rangers forward, Aidan Wilson, who joins us on loan for an initial one month period.
The 25-year-old striker joined the Cattachs last summer and picked up a Highland League championship medal having made the move to Dudgeon Park from Inverurie Locos.
The forward fills the void left by today’s departure of Ben Barron, who made the permanent move in the opposite direction earlier today.
Wilson will come into contention for tonight’s visit of Forres Mechanics to Station Park, pending approval from the Scottish FA.
Manager Wayne Mackintosh said: “With Ben Barron moving on, we needed to add another forward player to the squad. We were already keen on Aidan, so mentioned him in our discussions with Brora and we are delighted that they have agreed to allow him to join us on loan.
“Aidan has a lot of experience from different Highland League clubs and knows what it takes to win leagues and cups from his time with Brora Rangers and Rothes before that. He is a big, powerful striker, who looks like he will fit in well to our style of play, so we are all excited to see how he gets on.
“He has maybe been a bit frustrated at his lack of game time at Brora towards the end of last season and going into this season but we will look to give him the platform to go and express himself and build his confidence and hopefully he can get in among the goals and it can be to our benefit.
“We actually tried to get Aidan in last summer but he chose to go to Brora where he has tasted some success. Now that we have brought him in, we are looking forward to working with him and seeing what he can do in a Nairn County shirt.”
Aidan started his career at Inverness CT and after loan spells in the Highland League at Wick Academy, Lossiemouth, Brora Rangers, Forres Mechanics and Clachnacuddin, he found a permanent home at Rothes, who he joined in 2019. After four-and-a-half seasons with the Speysiders, during which time he won the Highland League (Morganti) Cup and the North of Scotland Cup, he moved to Inverurie Locos in 2024. An 18-month spell at Harlaw Park ended with his move to Brora Rangers last summer, where he tasted Highland League championship success in April.
