Nairn County FC will host open trials for the under-15s at Nairn Sports Club on Wednesday evening at 7.00 pm.

These are aimed at players who are going into 1st, 2nd and 3rd year at secondary school after the summer holidays and everyone is welcome to attend.

The trials will be overseen by under-15s coach, Ali Munro.

He said: "We can offer players a full programme of fixtures against fellow Highland League clubs at this age level on Sunday afternoons and training through the week.

"I know there is a lot of great work that goes on out there with various primary schools and community groups and that is fantastic as it gives players of primary age an early taste of football, plenty of touches of the ball and enjoyment, which is what it is all about.

"Our fixtures are non-competitive as it is all about development and enjoyment at this level and it ensures that all players are afforded fair opportunities regardless of ability.

"The under-15s is the first step on the Nairn County development pathway to the first team in the Highland League. Once a player progresses from this level, they move on to under-17s, under-20s and finally, the first team. This is a well-trodden path by the likes of current Nairn County players Wayne Mackintosh, Glenn Main and Gregg Main. Who knows, coming along to Wednesday night's trials could be the first step to following these guys and becoming a Nairn County star."
