NAIRN County Football Club is delighted to be sporting the logo of the Calum Riddell Foundation on their under-20s shirts in the new season.
The new kit was revealed at Station Park tonight and is yellow with a black stripe down the sleeve. The Puma-branded gear has the retro NCFC logo on the left of the chest, the badge of the Calum Riddell Foundation in the middle of the chest and the logo of sponsors, John Gordon & Son printed below.
Under-20s Head Coach Stuart Finnie said: “I am delighted the club is honouring Calum’s memory in this way. Calum was one of my best friends and I have great memories of playing alongside him at this level of football when we were young.
“It is an important level of football for all the players as it is the final step before the first team. If we do well in the league it is just a bonus – the overall goal for us is to produce players to play in the first team."
“We have seen three players who started out in our squad last season make their Highland League debuts and we have four players up with the first team doing pre-season training, so the pathway is there for all the players to step up."
“We returned to pre-season training ourselves on Saturday and all the players are looking sharp. We have five pre-season fixtures before our league season starts, so all the players will have plenty time to prove themselves to myself, Stretch (Brian Taylor) and Mark (Greig, coaches). They will all be given a chance but it is down to them to show the right attitude and that they are good enough to play."
“We will be going all out to develop the players as best we can this season and look to have as many as we can ready to move up. We are delighted to have the continued support of John Gordon & Son as our sponsor and their support has been invaluable in my time at the club."
"I hope we can do Calum’s memory proud when we run out wearing this kit and I will be doing everything I can to make sure that happens.”
