Nairn County under-20s put Elgin City under-19s to the sword with an impressive performance in a pre-season friendly at Aberlour.
Coach Ali Munro was delighted with the showing from his troops. He said: "I was delighted with the way it went and how all of the boys played.
"We had to field a young team and we were without three of our best players from last season in Jordan MacRae, Jack Maclean and Callum Ednie because of their involvement in the first team yesterday, so to come up against a strong Elgin side with a lot of new, young players in our team and beat them can only bode well for us."
Nairn opened the scoring through Trialist Kane Hull, who was on hand to turn the ball home after Ryan McBean had burst down the right hand side and delivered a cross.
That was how it stayed until half time and then Elgin then equalised 10 minutes after the turnaround but a couple of assists from Matty Macleod helped seal the win for Nairn.
The young attacker's free kick into the box was netted by Adam Porteous to re-establish Nairn's lead before he whipped in a corner that was headed home by Craig Munro to ensure there was no way back for City.
The under-20s visit North Region Juniors side Spey Valley United at Cromdale in their next pre-season friendly on Wednesday night.
