NINE-man Nairn County were narrowly edged out at Wick Academy by the odd goal in three.
The visitors were minus the services of the injured Conor Gethins while Adam Naismith was unavailable because of work commitments. In came Andrew Skinner for his first start for the club and Bradley Halsman. Alan Pollock returned from suspension and was on the bench.
All seemed to be going well for County with Tony Wallace opening the scoring on 28 minutes. However, Robbie Duncanson received a second booking on 43 minutes and was dismissed by referee Graham Fraser.
Wick took advantage of their extra man to level on 53 minutes through David Allan before Richard MacAdie struck the decisive blow from the penalty spot on 61 minutes.
Nairn then had goalkeeper Calum Antell red carded on injury time to end the match with nine men.
