THIS local derby was over as a contest before half time as three goals in the opening 45 minutes ensured that Nairn County did the double over Clachnacuddin, writes Graeme Macleod.
County again made a flying start going a goal up in past 12 minutes. Michael Morrison headed home a corner from the left for his third goal of the season.
It was two on 34 minutes when Sam Urquhart was fouled in the penalty area and Robbie Duncanson did the rest from 12 yards to put daylight between the sides.
And Nairn ensured the visitors would have a real uphill struggle to get back into the game by making it three just a few minutes before half time. Urquhart met Alan Pollock’s cross from the left with a majestic header that looped back across goal and inside the post.
Clach salvaged something on 58 minutes when Andrew Skinner scored from the spot after Martin MacDonald conceded a penalty.
