THE Nairn County FC Centenary Sportsman’s Lunch was a terrific success at the Royal British Legion last weekend.

Guests enjoyed a fantastic two-course meal before being entertained by guest speaker, ex-Scotland goalkeeper Alan Rough’s tales from throughout his distinguished playing career.

BROTHERS Adam and Ross Naismith were both on scoresheet as Nairn County dumped Fort William 4-0 for the second time in three Saturdays, writes Graeme Macleod.

County opened the scoring on 18 minutes when a Conor Gethins shot rebounded to Adam Naismith and the full back showed a cool head to round the grounded goalkeeper and roll the ball home.

A LATE rally from Nairn County ensured their progress to the quarter finals of the Highland League (Morganti) Cup as Locos lost the plot at Station Park.

Nairn were on the front foot from the off and opened the scoring after just four minutes. Martin MacDonald connected with a corner kick from the right and although his initial effort was saved, he reacted quickest to bundle the rebound over the line.

TWO blasts of quickfire doubles put Nairn County into the first round of the Highland League Cup where they will now face Inverurie Locos this Saturday at Station Park.

In this preliminary round tie against Fort William, County opened the scoring on 26 minutes as Alan Pollock played Conor Gethins in on goal and the striker did the rest, clipping the ball over advancing goalkeeper Robert Lewandowski.
