SPEND-A-PENNY: Donald Wilson of the Supporters Fundraising Group has delivered the below update on the Spend-a-Penny campaign, aimed at raising funds to replace the spectator toilets at Station Park.
Everyone will be itching to get to the game on Saturday so I just thought I would give you an update on the Spend a Penny campaign for the new toilets.
Since launching on December 3 the fund already stands at the remarkable sum of £3,500 with another £200 pledged in Panel Beater donations. Well done to everyone involved. A lot of people have been busy behind the scenes putting together a varied programme of events which not only hopefully will generate some cash for the project but will also give us some fun along the way. No dates have yet been finalised but watch the official club social media and this site for details.
Here's a flavour of what we can look forward to.
* Race night oranised by Ian Finlayson
* A fun run organised by the parents of one of our youth team players.
* Whisky tasting aka Dodo.
* 1970s disco and Mr and Mrs Quiz by Gordie Ogg.
* Gin Tasting being investigated.
* Ali Nicol will be doing something. Hopefully persuade Brendan to give us half of the Van Dijk sell-on fee!
* Finale to the campaign being planned for end of season.
Can I urge anyone interested in supporting these events to PLEASE indicate so the people orgainsing them can feel reassured. Even a mass of likes at this stage will suffice and speak to Dodo if you want one of his much-coveted tasting tickets or Fin if you want to support his race night by sponsoring a race or horse.
Be great to see lots of youth players and families becoming involved in events too especially the fun run.
And of course we will be delighted to take more names (£20) for the Panel Beater Board. Sponsor an individual, business or family if you wish. Speak to Steven Bain or myself (Donald Wilson) about that. Remember to ask for a complimentary History book - I want to reclaim my basement!
